Message from School Council Chair

 School Council Meeting

Wednesday, February 17th at 7:00 pm in the staff room.
Everyone is welcome to come to this meeting.

Dear Parents:

On behalf of the St. Michael's School Council I welcome all students and families to our school community, and thank you for choosing St. Michael's for the development and education of the children. It is with great pleasure that we see our school population grow for yet another year. Our staff, pastors and many volunteers take to heart the message of our mission statement to recognize the uniqueness of each student and strive to challenge each one to excellence. The many successes we have witnessed in our children can be attributed to our committed staff and the active support of our parents. Please answer the call for support, by participating in fund raising activities or volunteering your time and talents for specific events.

St. Michael's School is also part of the greater faith community. The school provided assistance and guidance by our local Catholic Parishes through financial contributions, and by electing volunteer members of the School Council. The members of your council for the 2006-2007 school year are:

The council is charged with the responsibility of managing the business activities of the school, in support of the academic activities that are managed by the staff, principal and superintendent. Under the guidance of the Bishop we follow the constitution and by-laws of the Catholic Independent Schools of the Nelson Diocese. Our council meetings are open to anyone of the school community. If you wish to have an issue discussed at a council meeting, please submit supporting information to the school secretary at least two weeks in advance of the meeting. In fulfilling our role of representing the interests of the school and supporting communities, we ask for your input so that we may make the best decisions for our students and staff.

May we all continue to witness the joy of Christ in our lives through the growth of our children during this coming year.
